Bush singer Gavin Rossdale opened up in an interview about the difficulties of co-parenting children of divorce during the coronavirus pandemic.
Rossdale said his three sons with ex-wife Gwen Stefani are splitting their time between Los Angeles, where he lives, and Oklahoma, where Stefani resides with boyfriend Blake Shelton at his ranch.
Speaking on SiriusXM, Rossdale explained, “I did the first two weeks with them, then they went to Oklahoma. I think it's okay for now, but it's a real big dilemma for parents and kids with split custody.”
Rossdale added that he's “mindful” of whom he interacts with and that he hadn't seen his sons in 10 days, which was unusual, because he normally sees them “every, like, five days or so.”
Stefani and Rossdale met in 1995 when No Doubt opened for Bush. Rossdale told us a while back it was love at first sight: “They said, 'We want to introduce you to the singer from the band,' and she came to the dressing room and that was kind of it — my life was over, Cupid struck, whatever you say. And she went out of the room and I turned to them and I said, 'That was the best idea you guys ever had — how long can she come out for?' So that was it, really. I think we lasted a few weeks and then that was it. It was out of our control.”
The couple tied the knot in 2002 after six years of dating. Stefani filed for divorce in August 2015 and it was finalized in April 2016. Their sons are Kingston, aged 13, Zuma, aged 11 and Apollo, aged six.
