This year’s AMBUCS Challenger League Baseball season in Danville has been canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Lori Lyons, AMBUCS Challenger Baseball Chairperson, said the decision to cancel the season was made only after much discussion and tears. And she added it is with a heavy heart that she was announcing the decision to cancel the games this year.
Over 90 area children with disabilities normally participate in the games. ‘’Our organization cares deeply for our players, families, volunteers, and our community,’’ said Lyons. ‘’We want you all to stay healthy and safe during this uncertain time.’’
Lyons added she hopes sponsors of the games will continue their support when the games return in June of next year.
