The Danville Dashers Hockey Team will be in the community at least one more year. Members of the David S. Palmer Arena Board voted 5 to 3 this (Wednesday) evening to extend the contract into its second year. But the Board also agreed unanimously to explore other prospects which might come along.

Board president Greg Green said that now is not the time to be dashing the Dasher’s contract….

A major project renovating the ice at the Palmer Arena just got underway last week. The improvements are being done with a $3-million dollar bequest from the Julius W. Hegeler II Foundation.
The other two board members who voted against extending the Dashers’ contract into its second year were Scott Dowers and John Spezia.
