  • Another Frampton has “come alive” with the birth of Peter Frampton's first grandchild. Elle Frampton Homburger was born on April 6th to the guitarist's fashion designer daughter Jade and husband, Samuel Homburger. Frampton has two other children, son Julian, who's a musician and the leader of the Julian Frampton Band, and younger daughter Mia, who's an actress and was featured in numerous TV and features — including Bridesmaids.
  • During a new online chat wit Rolling Stone.com Roger Waters said that he recently met with surviving Pink Floyd members David Gilmour and Nick Mason to present what was described as a “peace plan” regarding a reissue of the band's 1977 album, Animals. Waters explained that his ideas didn't bear fruit and when pressed as to whether in this day and age, he and Gilmour burying whatever hatchets they still carry would be a good idea, Waters joked: “No, it wouldn’t be nice. It would be f***ing awful. Obviously if you’re a fan of those days of Pink Floyd, you would have a different point of view. But I had to live through it. That was my life. Would I trade my liberty for those chains? No f***ing way.” (Rolling Stone)
  • Jeff Beck and actor Johnny Depp have teamed up for a new cover of John Lennon's 1970 classic “Isolation” from his first post-Beatles solo album, John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band. Back in September, Depp joined Beck and his band at Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival in Dallas to perform the song.
    • Jeff Beck said in a statement: “Johnny and I have been working on music together for a while now and we recorded this track during our time in the studio last year. We weren’t expecting to release it so soon but given all the hard days and true 'Isolation' that people are going through in these challenging times, we decided now might be the right time to let you all hear it. You’ll be hearing more from Johnny and me in a little while but until then we hope you find some comfort and solidarity in our take on this Lennon classic.” (Press release)
  • Ousted Journey co-founder and bassist Ross Valory has countersued bandmates Neal Schon and Jonathan Cain citing “breach of contract” and “emotional distress.” Valory, who is seeking a judge's decision on which faction — him and drummer Steve Smith or Schon and Cain — can continue to tour under the band's name, filed the cross-Complaint in Contra Costa County Superior Court on April 6th, 2020.
    • Valory’s attorney, Andrew Spielberger said in a statement: “Ross is shocked and devastated by the conduct of his lifelong bandmates (Schon and Cain) and is disappointed that there was never any attempt to sit down and discuss what is most likely a misunderstanding and something that easily could have been worked out. If there ever was a time to have perspective in this world about disagreements — it is now. Unfortunately, this disagreement between ‘brothers’ who have played music together for the past 35 to 45 years was not able to be resolved during the current Coronavirus crisis when many are suffering. Ross feels horrible about this whole unnecessary ordeal. But he is a fighter and he has hired able counsel to defend and fight for his rights.   • Carlos Santana will continue the residency this fall with runs in both September and November.
