Danville Police say two suspects have been arrested in connection with a drive-by shooting on April 7th. A 17-year-old Danville teen suffered a gunshot wound to a foot while he was outside a home in the unit block of South State Street.
Danville Police Detectives say they gathered evidence and got statements from witnesses that resulted with the arrests. Thirty-five year old Tracy DePratt was taken into custody by Westville Police during a traffic stop in Westville on Tuesday. And Danville Police Detectives took 23-year-old Joseph R. Hernandez into custody at a residence in the 1300 block of East Williams Street on Wednesday.
Hernandez had been identified as the person responsible for firing shots at the victim, according to police. And DePratt has been identified as the driver of the vehicle involved.
DePratt is currently being held at the Public Safety Building in Danville on a charge of aggravated battery with a firearm. His bond is set at $400-thousand dollars. Hernandez also remains in custody at the Public Safety Building in Danville. He is charged with aggravated battery with a firearm and unlawful use of weapons by a felon. The bond for Hernandez is set at $500-thousand dollars.
The public is reminded that those who are charged are presumed to be innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
