The COVID-19 outbreak is continuing to impact meetings and other activities in our area. The Vermilion County Board meeting which had been scheduled for Tuesday, April 21, 2020, has been cancelled. County Board Chairman Larry Baughn cited an earlier Executive Order which says cancelling or postponing public meetings may be prudent during the COVID-19 outbreak, rather than holding meetings that could pose a risk of danger to the public.
The next meeting of the full Vermilion County Board is scheduled for May 12th.
And the Vermilion County Conservation District and Middle Fork Chapter of the Illinois Audubon Society have postponed the dedication of the Beech Grove All-Accessible Trail at Forest Glen Preserve on Saturday, May 30th, 2020. The trail was scheduled to be dedicated in honor of Marilyn Campbell. The event will be rescheduled later.
Also cancelled are the World War II Remembrance Days which had been scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, May 2nd and 3rd, 2020 at Kennekuk County Park.
Vermilion County Parks under the direction of the Conservation District all remain open. Forest Glen, Kennekuk, Henon, and Lake Vermilion County Parks are open with access to trails and open spaces from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
