The number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 coronavirus remains at 10 in Vermilion County. But in some other Illinois counties the number has been rising. The latest numbers from Champaign County show 93 positive cases have been confirmed since the counting began, and four deaths. There have been 5 cases of the virus confirmed in Ford County since counting began, and one death. Twelve positive cases have been confirmed in Iroquois County, 14 in Coles County, and 12 in Douglas County. – Again, those are the total number of cases diagnosed since the counting began.
County Health Department Administrator Douglas Toole says lab results confirmed the 10th positive case of COVID-19 in Vermilion County. He says the 10th person is in their 50s. Although it is being counted as a Vermilion County case, the person was tested in Champaign County. Toole says the Vermilion County Health Department’s Communicable Disease Division has spoken to the person about self-quarantining.
