Slipknot and Stone Sour singer Corey Taylor is planning to launch a new project with his wife, dancer Alicia Taylor. The couple intend to start a plant-based taco food truck together, although the venture has been delayed by the need to stay quarantined.
In a new video interview with Rock Feed while isolating at home, Corey explained, “It was basically a (plant-based) taco food truck. We can’t say vegan. There will be some dairy and some stuff in there, but the main focus was flavor, not just content . . . This was a way for us to combine that with a healthier lifestyle.”
Taylor also spoke about how live music will come back, predicting that the concert industry will re-open slowly. He said, “It'll probably be in smaller venues — 'cause people are gonna be f**king scared, man. Or maybe outdoor venues, where people don't feel like they're confined . . . If we do it right and we build that enthusiasm, probably within a year, maybe a year and a half, we'll see the same enthusiasm for live shows that we did before.”
Taylor told us a while back that the build-up to a tour is what he enjoys the most: “I guess my favorite part of it is the anticipation of putting the boots on and getting back onstage and doing something different, and yet continuing the legacy. And part of that is because of the excitement that arises from our fan base. They get so crazy that, you know, it makes us crazy in return. You know, you're putting out energy and the audience is feeding it right back to you.”
Asked if Slipknot would ever scale down its show to perform in a smaller venue once the pandemic has subsided, Corey responded, “We've actually talked about doing something like that for years — doing a throwback show, and doing a throwback show in a way where we wear the old gear as well. But that's… I mean, I don't know. That's few and far between.”
Slipknot has most likely suspended all tour plans for the rest of the 2020, although the band has already rescheduled this year's canceled Knotfest Japan for January 2021.
