Korn, Green Day, Weezer and many others are among the acts that will appear at PlayOnFest, a streaming music event that will stream concerts for 72 hours from this Friday (April 24th) at noon ET through April 26th.
The event will feature previously recorded concerts by the artists, from shows on some of the world's biggest stages to unique, smaller performances. Other participating acts include Twenty One Pilots, Panic! At The Disco, Slipknot, Royal Blood, Paramore, Coldplay, Bruno Mars, Portugal. The Man, Ed Sheeran, Cardi B and more.
Korn fans will get to see a 2019 performance shot inside a “living art installation” to celebrate the release of the band's most recent record, The Nothing. Green Day's set comes from an MTV World Stage Seville performance that took place in 2019, while Twenty One Pilots fans can catch their closing headline set at 2019's Lollapalooza Brazil.
Korn guitarist James “Munky” Shaffer has told us in the past that it's all about getting onstage for the band: “This is what we live for, is to go out and tour and play live. I mean, that's — I'm an adrenaline junkie and I need to be in front of lots of screaming people (laughs).”
Warner Music Group has launched a pre-sale of exclusive PlayOnFest merch, with all the proceeds going to the Covid-19 Solidarity Response Fund. The entire run of shows can be viewed via Songkick's YouTube Channel.
