Danville Police say a suspect has been arrested in connection with a shooting two weeks ago. Members of the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force took 23-year-old Darrell L. Boston of Danville into custody in Dolton, Illinois. Boston is being held on charges of aggravated battery with a firearm, aggravated discharge of a firearm and unlawful use of a weapon by a felon. His bond is set at $500-thousand dollars.
The charges stem from the shooting of a 27-year-old Danville man on April 14th. Police were told the victim was walking in the area of the 900 block of Wakely Drive when he was struck by bullets in a drive-by shooting. The victim suffered gunshot wounds to a leg and arm. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment of the non-life-threatening wounds.
During a follow up investigation Danville Police were able to identify 23-year-old Darrell Boston as a suspect in the case. Although Boston has been arrested police remind citizens that all suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in court.
