Danville High School Principal Tracy Cherry has announced that a member of the Class of 2020 has been accepted into the United States Naval Academy Preparatory School. She is Peyton Hile, who becomes the first female Danville High School student to receive the opportunity to go to Annapolis.
Mrs. Cherry says although the application process was very difficult and time consuming, Peyton managed to get this all completed while still maintaining the highest academics at Danville High School. ‘’This is one example of why we know that she will be extremely successful in this program and beyond,’’ added Cherry.
The mission of the NAPS school is to enhance midshipman candidate’s oral, mental, and physical foundation to prepare them for success at the U.S. Naval Academy.
‘’She has been an exemplary student at Danville High School, and we know that she will represent her country with the same dedication, commitment, and determination to be and do her absolute best,’’ added Cherry in a news release.
