Danville Police made arrests in three separate incidents involving weapons Tuesday. A 27-year-old Danville man is facing charges that include possession of a stolen firearm and unlawful use of weapons by a felon after he was arrested at Fairchild and Martin Streets. The arrest was made shortly before 5:00 p.m. Tuesday (May 5, 2020). The name of the man is being withheld pending the filing of formal charges.
Danville Police arrested a 29-year-old man in the 200 block of West Fairchild Street on multiple charges – including weapons charges.
The man is facing preliminary charges of aggravated unlawful use of weapons, having no firearm owner’s identification card, possession of cannabis, and possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to deliver.
In the third incident, police arrested a 30-year-old man Tuesday night at a motel in the 3600 block of North Vermilion Street. He was arrested on preliminary charges that include reckless discharge of a firearm and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.
Other details regarding the arrests were not immediately available. Names of those who were booked at the Public Safety Building were being released pending a review of the cases by the Vermilion County State’s Attorney’s Office.
Danville Police also received two other reports of reckless discharge of a firearm. One of those was late Tuesday night and the other early today (Wednesday) May 6, 2020.
