State Senator Scott Bennett and Representative Mike Marron say they are having some success working in a coalition to work on constituent problems. But both men are looking forward to the day when lawmakers can get their entire group back together in Springfield.
Representative Marron described on WDAN Radio’s Newsmakers program Monday where much of his focus has been during the COVID-19 pandemic…
{‘’You know, be a conduit to the state agencies trying to help with unemployment claims. Just do whatever we can and then also try to be a voice for people. And I think that’s getting important now because people are really, really getting frustrated with the economic fallout from all of this. And people are hurting,’’ said Marron. ‘’And so I think it’s more important that we’re more engaged as things get tougher because people need to feel that they have that voice in Springfield.’’}
Senator Bennett added some new staff to help reach out to senior citizens about their needs and what programs are available to help them….
{‘’There’s a lot of programs (and) they’re coming so fast – whether federal or state. Things change almost by the week,’’ said Senator Bennett, ‘’and so it’s important to people to get the updated information and then that helps them whether there are changing life circumstances.’’}
Both Senator Bennett and Representative Marron say their offices have been busy handling more constituent concerns and questions since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
