Some more summer fun events in Vermilion County have been cancelled due to the on-going COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic. The Board of Directors of the Vermilion County Conservation Foundation has cancelled this year’s ‘Cheeseburgers and Fun’ event which had been scheduled for August 8th at Kennekuk County Park.
Michael Puhr, co-chairman of ‘Cheeseburgers and Fun’ says the board decided to cancel the event because of the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic.
And the Friendly Town Traffic Safety Education Center, located in Danville’s Lincoln Park, will not be open this summer. It, too, is remaining closed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Friendly Town is a miniature town in Danville’s Lincoln Park where children can learn about bicycle and pedestrian safety, bullying, and cyber safety among other safety programs. The program is operated by Danville Police and the City of Danville.
