Danville Mayor Rickey Williams Jr. says he is excited about the fact that bars and restaurants will be able to reopen with outdoor seating on May 29th. The Mayor went on social media Wednesday night saying the City of Danville will do all it can to help businesses make the reopening possible.
Mayor Williams also announced the city will reopen all tennis, basketball and volleyball courts, skate park, horseshoe pits and other activities on May 29th (next Friday). But he says playground equipment in local parks is not scheduled to reopen until June 29th, but it may occur sooner. The municipal swimming pool is also scheduled to open on June 29th, but the Mayor says it may also open sooner.
Golf courses will be allowed to have foursomes with the same tee times, and golf carts will also be permitted with one person per cart, or one immediate household per cart.
Other things scheduled to open May 29th include health clubs and gyms, and fitness studios can provide one-on-one personal training in indoor facilities and outdoor fitness classes of up to ten people. Personal care services, like nail salons, tattoo shops, hair braiders, spas and barbershops can open with Illinois Department of Public Health safety precautions and capacity limits, noted the Mayor in his post. And all retail stores can open their doors to in-person shopping with IDPH precautions and safety limits.
