Danville Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a May 24th shooting in which a man was shot in the neck. Thirty-four year old Nathan D. Weiskopf of Danville was arrested on a warrant charging him with aggravated battery with a firearm and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon. Weiskopf’s bond has been set at $750-thousand dollars.
Danville Police Detectives were able to identify Weiskopf as the suspect during a follow-up investigation. Detectives and members of the Danville Police POP Unit observed Weiskopf (shown in photo) in the area of the 900 block of North Walnut Street and were able to take him into custody.

The 30-year-old man who was shot told police he was in the doorway of his home when someone outside shot him. The victim was taken to an area hospital where he remains in stable condition.
