Britney Spears has re-released a rare 2016 song, “Mood Ring.”
The song was produced by DJ Mustard and was previously only available on the Japanese deluxe edition of Glory.
Spears says she decided to finally put out “Mood Ring (By Demand)” as a gift to fans after a #JusticeForGlory hashtag got the album back to the top of the iTunes pop chart earlier this month. The “By Demand” in parenthesis was added to the song title to acknowledge her fans’ work.
Spears, who is self-isolating at home amid the pandemic, also shared her “I MISS Y2K” playlist for Apple Music on Friday, featuring artists that shaped the late ‘90s and early 2000s pop scene, including Backstreet Boys, Mariah Carey and *NSYNC.
Spears chose “It’s Gonna Be Me,” from her ex-boyfriend, Justin Timberlake’s, boy band to add to her list. Madonna’s “Music,” Kylie Minogue’s “Can’t Get You Out of My Head,” Ricky Martin’s “Livin’ La Vida Loca” and Christina Aguilera’s “What a Girl Wants” are also included.
