Danville Public Library is now offering access to public computers, photocopying and faxing services.
Library patrons needing access to computers can visit the library’s first floor meeting room, where a temporary computer lab is available.
Jennifer Hess, director of the Danville Public Library, was a guest on Linda Bolton’s Newsmakers this morning. She says it has been hard for people not to have access to basic services during the pandemic due to a lack of internet access.
“I know we have people who need computer access to help them file for unemployment, do their research or just connect with their loved ones, and because we have had to be closed, they haven’t been able to do that.”
The public is limited to 30 minutes of computer time and are encouraged to wear face masks and observe social distancing practices while in the lab. Printing, copying and faxing services are also available, and the library is waving fees for those functions.
Curbside delivery is also available Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. and from 2-6 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
