The Vermilion County Board has appointed Aaron Hird as the new Vermilion County Regional Superintendent of Schools, replacing Cheryl Reifsteck.
Hird will assume the office on July 1.
Since 2018, Hird has been the assistant regional superintendent of schools. The Potomac native previously served as an assistant superintendent in the Westville school district, principal at Oakwood Grade School and as a teacher and coach in the Catlin school district.
