Danville City Council members will consider an ordinance tonight that will allow council members to attend a meeting electronically.
The proposed rules will allow a council member to fill out a form stating the reason for their physical absence and provide contact information. The member would then be allowed to participate via a phone call, video or internet connection.
The rules will apply to city council meetings, committees, boards and commissions established by the city council. Electronic access will not be allowed for closed session meetings.
Tonight’s city council meeting is being conducted on the Zoom videoconferencing platform. The public can watch by clicking here.
