The number of deaths from COVID-19 coronavirus in Indiana has surpassed the 2100 mark. Thirty-two new deaths from the Virus were reported by the Indiana Public Health Department late Friday. In addition nearly 37-thousand positive cases of the virus have been found in Indiana since April 9th out of the almost 300-thousand people who have been tested.
In an eight-county area of west-central Indiana there have been 33 deaths from COVID-19 coronavirus since the numbers started being tracked in early April. Eighteen of those deaths occurred in Montgomery county, eight in Vigo county, and four in Tippecanoe county. There have also been two deaths in Fountain county and one in Warren county from the disease since April.
A total of 441 people have tested positive for the COVID-19 coronavirus in Tippecanoe County, Indiana since the testing began in early April. The total number of people who have tested positive for the virus in other west-central Indiana counties include:
- 252 in Montgomery County out of 1,696 people tested
- 185 in Vigo County out of 3,202 people tested
- 32 in Benton County out of 346 people tested
- 22 in Fountain County out of 545 people tested
- 18 in Parke County out of 457 people tested
- 13 positive cases in Warren County
- 10 cases in Vermillion County Indiana out of 406 people tested
Again, those are total cases diagnosed from those counties since April.
