Remnants of Tropical Storm Cristobal are expected to impact central Illinois on Tuesday and Wednesday bringing some possible locally heavy rain and gusty winds. The National Weather Service says some of the storms could be locally severe on Tuesday. The risk of severe weather is listed as marginal.
Widespread showers and some thunderstorms from late Tuesday into Wednesday could bring rainfall amounts of three-quarters of an inch to 1.5 inches across East Central Illinois east of Interstate 57. Higher amounts are expected across southwestern and west-central portions of Illinois. Winds could gust from 25 to 40 miles per hour at times through the period of Tuesday through Wednesday across parts of our region.
