The Illinois Gaming Board meets Thursday (June 11, 2020) but there will be no action on Haven Gaming’s proposal for a new Danville casino. The Danville casino is not on the agenda and Scott Sypolt, the attorney for Haven Gaming, explains why….
{‘’I believe the Illinois Gaming Board is focused on getting the existing casinos back up and going again. As you know, they all have been shut down. And also they’re focusing on sports betting,’’ said Sypolt.}
Sypolt adds Haven Gaming remains very anxious to move the Danville project ahead….
{‘’We with Haven Gaming, we are ready to go. In fact, we expect to be called probably at the July meeting,’’ said Sypolt. ‘’We’re going to show up with a hard hat and a shovel. We’re ready to start digging. We’re very excited to become part of the community.’’}
The Illinois Gaming Board’s next scheduled meeting is July 30th.
Danville Mayor Rickey Williams Jr. said a few weeks ago that he will not be doing interviews or answering questions about the Danville Casino license application or preferred applicant Haven Gaming until he has additional information or something changes. ‘’Again, there is no new information at this time, and nothing has changed, so I have no statements to give and nothing new to offer you,’’ said the Mayor in a statement sent to the media today.
