Bad Wolves have shared the latest in their series of cover songs, a take on Rihanna's “Bitch Better Have My Money.” The full cover is currently available only to fans who participate in the band's Patreon page.
In what seems a deliberate move, this cover arrives after last Friday’s cover of the Chris Brown track “Look At Me Now.” Rihanna and Brown were in a relationship that ended with physical violence in 2009, with Brown subsequently arrested on charges of assault and making criminal threats, to which he would later plead guilty.
The new cover follows a turbulent week for the band in which singer Tommy Vext promoted conspiracy theories about the origins of Black Lives Matter and downplayed the effects of racism in an Instagram video, which he later deleted and walked back.
Meanwhile, Bad Wolves guitarist Doc Coyle weighed in, saying that he “wholeheartedly disagree(d)” with the contents of Vext's video but that there was no trouble brewing within the band as a result.
Bad Wolves is currently sitting at Number One on the rock radio chart with “Sober,” from the band's second album, N.A.T.I.O.N.
