Area school superintendents are reviewing new guidelines announced Tuesday for the re-opening of schools. ‘’I look forward to reviewing the guidance and working with our district team to implement a transition plan,’’ was the reaction from Salt Fork Superintendent Phil Cox.
Westville Unit 2 Superintendent Seth Miller said he had only begun to scratch the surface on the Governor’s plan for getting students back in the classrooms. ‘’Westville School District is eager to return to school in a manner that is safe for our students and teachers,’’ said Miller. He called the guidance released by Governor JB Pritzker ‘’a good first step as we continue to work on options for opening school. The district has surveyed parents and our teachers and is actively engaged with a steering committee to develop plans for our return to school this fall,’’ added the Westville Superintendent.
Danville District 118 Superintendent Alicia Geddis said she had been in meetings all day Tuesday, and was just starting to review the Governor’s school re-opening plan.
