Danville District 118 School Board members have scheduled a special meeting for 5:30 p.m. Monday, June 29, 2020. The board is scheduled to go into a closed meeting first at the Dr. David L. Fields Administrative Service Center at 110 East Williams Street. Then the Board will reconvene to an open meeting at 6:00 p.m.
Among items on the agenda is a decision on the schedule that will be followed during the upcoming school year at Northeast Elementary Magnet School. Currently the school operates on a balanced calendar schedule, but there has been discussion about possibly switching the school to the traditional schedule for one year because of developments involving the state’s COVID 19 rules.
The Board will also consider approval of a consent waiver for students involved in the District’s Summer Program. By signing the form, parents would voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation in the Summer Program, including potential exposure to COVID 19.
The Danville School Board members will also consider several other items on its agenda, including the purchase of disposable masks, and minor changes in the District’s Ownership in Education Manual. The Board will also consider new proposed guidelines for providing behind-the-wheel Driver’s Education in compliance with all Secretary of State and Illinois Department of Public Health safety requirements.
