Even though many communities have canceled their 4th of July celebrations, Danville is still hosting two celebrations this weekend.
Turtle Run Golf Club is celebrating Independence Day this evening with fireworks at dusk. Nashville recording artist Bobby McClendon is set to perform at 8:30, and there will be food and drinks available to purchase. Free entry is available up until 3:00 this afternoon, afterwards cost will be $5 per walkup or $10 per car.
Tomorrow evening, the City of Danville and the Village of Tilton are partnering to host a free fireworks show at Danville Stadium. Concession stands and several other vendors will start selling beginning at 6:00, and a band will perform outside the stadium. Fireworks will begin at dusk. Danville Mass Transit is providing free shuttle service between the DMT Transfer Zone downtown and the stadium every half hour between 5:30 and 10:00.
Hand sanitizer will be available. Anyone planning on attending is encouraged to physically distance themselves from other groups and to wash their hands.
Sunday night, the Danville Municipal Band celebrates their 80th season with a concert of patriotic selections at Lincoln Park at 7 p.m.
