A Georgetown man has been sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty to stealing thousands of dollars worth of lumber from Menards in Danville.
Vermilion County State’s Attorney said Jody Carson purchased items and obtained an invoice from the store and then visited the store’s lumber yard to load a flatbed truck with additional lumber that he had not purchased. Carson stole over $22,000 worth of material over a period of several months.
Carson had prior theft convictions.
