Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White has extended the expiration deadlines by another month for people to renew their driver’s licenses and stickers.
State residents now have until November 1 to renew their information without risk of their licenses expiring. White says the decision was made to that customers do not have to rush into driver’s services facilities, especially during the pandemic and heat wave.
White says online renewal transactions last month were up 110 percent compared to one year ago.
Through July 31, Driver Services facilities are only serving new drivers, customers with expired driver’s licenses/ID cards and vehicle transactions. Face masks are required.
Customers who must visit a facility to renew their driver’s license or ID card are encouraged to first use the preregistration application at www.cyberdriveillinois.com, which will speed up their transaction while at the facility.
