Six new COVID-19 cases were reported in Vermilion County Tuesday afternoon.
Vermilion County Health Department Administrator Doug Toole says the new cases are all under the age of 50: two people in their 40’s, two people in their 20’s and two teenagers.
Two of the new patients recently traveled out-of-state.
The county currently has 30 active COVID-19 cases, with one person hospitalized and rest in isolation.
The Illinois Department of Public Health announced 1,471 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide, including 19 additional confirmed deaths.
Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 184,712 cases and 7,545 deaths. The seven-day statewide case positivity is 3.9%. As of Monday night, 1,496 people in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 365 patients were in the ICU and 125 patients with COVID-19 were on ventilators.
