The Danville District 118 school board will vote tonight on the district’s reopening plan for the fall 2020 semester.
District officials had planned on opening the elementary schools for half-day schooling, while Danville High School, North Ridge Middle School and South View Upper Elementary School would have an A/B schedule.
Recently, however, the district learned that since Liberty and Meade Park elementary schools have an open-air classroom concept, they cannot have more than 50 people in those buildings at a time.
Board members will only be considering a reopening plan, and not be reconsidering the proposals for both band and show choir for now, but could at the August 19 meeting.
The school board meets at 6:30 tonight virtually. A live video stream is available on the district’s website, www.danville118.org.
