After Haven Gaming withdrew its application for the proposed Danville casino on Lynch Road, city council members will be meeting with the company to hash out a new application to the Illinois Gaming Board.
Members of the state board previously had said that the casino application filed by Haven Gaming was too vague and lacking in detail, with the chairman of the board asking at one point if it was simply a “placeholder” application.
Legislation signed in May allowed Haven Gaming to withdraw its application for the casino.
Aldermen have been meeting virtually since the pandemic began, but will have an in-person meeting on Tuesday, August 18 at 6 p.m. in city council chambers to meet with Haven Gaming officials.
The room will have a limited capacity of 50 people but the meeting will also be streamed online.
Mayor Rickey Williams Jr. said the city has touchless thermometers and could require everyone attending the meeting to have their temperatures checked.
