The 53rd edition of the Newport Antique Auto Hill Climb will have to wait until next year.
Organizers of the event—which is the second-largest automobile event in the state of Indiana behind the Indianapolis 500—have canceled this year’s event, the latest casualty in the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Newport Lions Club says it will honor registration fees for next year’s event. The hill climb had been continuously run since 1967.
