Illinois has surpassed 200,000 COVID-19 cases.
The Illinois Department of Public Health said 1,834 new cases were reported statewide and 24 more people have died.
The Vermilion County Health Department announced 11 new coronavirus cases Thursday afternoon. Cases are one person in their 60’s, two people in their 50’s, three people in their 30’s, one person in their 20’s, one teenager and three grade-school-aged children.
Administrator Doug Toole says six of the new cases are between two families.
Vermilion County now has 28 active cases, with one person in the hospital and the rest isolated at home.
IDPH is reporting a total of 200,427 cases and 7,696 deaths. The seven-day statewide positivity rate is four percent. As of Wednesday night, 1,628 people in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 383 patients were in the ICU and 127 patients with COVID-19 were on ventilators.
