Danville police are investigating two shootings that happened over the weekend.
Officers were first called to Pennsylvania Avenue on Danville’s east side at 11:51 p.m. Saturday. Witnesses said they were standing outside of a residence when someone started shooting at them from across the street. Three people were injured: a 26-year-old man with wounds to his arms and back, a 52-year-old woman with wounds to her torso and a 21-year-old woman with wounds to her hand. No suspect information is available.
A little more than an hour later, at 1:08 a.m. Sunday, police responded to a shooting at the intersection of College and South streets, where a 21-year-old woman was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to her chest. Witnesses said they were standing in a parking lot when they heard shots. They said a red Chevrolet Impala drove away from the scene at a high rate of speed.
