An infant is among nine new COVID-19 cases announced Monday afternoon by the Vermilion County Health Department.
Administrator Doug Toole says she new cases involve one person in their 80’s, one person in their 70’s, one person in their 50’s, one person in their 30’s, two people in their 20’s, a grade-school-aged child and the infant.
The county now has 34 positive cases, all on home isolation. 263 people have so far tested positive overall.
The Illinois Department of Public Health announced 1,773 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Illinois, including 12 additional confirmed deaths.
Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 207,854 cases and 7,756 deaths. The preliminary seven-day case positivity rate is 4.2 percent. As of Sunday night, 1,544 people in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 340 patients were in the ICU and 126 patients with COVID-19 were on ventilators.
