Only one new COVID-19 case was reported Tuesday afternoon in Vermilion County.
Health Department Administrator Doug Toole says the new case involves a person in their 90’s. He says the resident is a relative of someone who tested positive on Monday.
The Illinois Department of Public Health announced 1,740 new coronavirus cases statewide, including 27 deaths.
Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 209,594 cases and 7,782 deaths. The seven-day statewide positivity rate is up one tenth of a percent to 4.3 percent. As of Monday night, 1,510 people in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 335 patients were in the ICU and 128 patients with COVID-19 were on ventilators.
