The Vermilion County Health Department reports the county has 16 new COVID-19 cases.
Administrator Doug Toole says the new cases consist of two people in their 70’s, four people in their 60’s, four people in their 50’s, one person in their 40’s, two people in their 30’s, two people in their 20’s and one teenager.
Vermilion County currently has 25 active cases, with one person hospitalized, and 297 cases overall. The county’s seven-day positivity rate is 2.7 percent and the single-day rate is 1.6 percent, well below the state’s average of 4.1 percent.
The Illinois Department of Public Health reports 1,680 new cases and 29 more deaths, bringing the state’s totals to 223,470 cases and 7,917 deaths.
