Danville police have arrested nine people in connection with a prostitution sting operation it conducted earlier this week.
Commander Terry McCord says officers conducted the operation Tuesday and Wednesday with members of the Vermilion County Metropolitan Enforcement Group on the west side of Danville after receiving several complaints from people living in the area.
Nine people were arrested and charged with various offenses related to prostitution:
- 43-year-old Tricia Yeager of Danville for prostitution.
- 33-year-old Starlina Greene of Danville for prostitution.
- 68-year-old Gary Claywell of Danville for soliciting a prostitute.
- 44-year-old Jose Cardenas Jr. of Danville for soliciting a prostitute and driving on a revoked license.
- 69-year-old Gerald Brown of Danville for soliciting a prostitute.
- 64-year-old Lewis Cooper of Danville for soliciting a prostitute.
- 61-year-old Thomas Waddell of Georgetown for soliciting a prostitute and driving on a revoked license.
- 68-year-old Jesse Wyer of Oakwood for soliciting a prostitute.
- 74-year-old Garry Lynn of Tilton for soliciting a prostitute.
All of the suspects have been booked and released from the Vermilion County Jail and given a notice to appear in court. They are innocent until proven guilty.
