Three teenagers, two preschoolers and a person in their 20’s are the latest Vermilion County residents to be diagnosed with COVID-19.
Vermilion County Health Department Administrator Doug Toole says two of the new cases are related family-wise to previously reported positive cases.
The county is also reporting its fourth death from the virus. Toole says a 68-year-old man died after being hospitalized with the virus last week.
The county now has 43 active COVID-19 cases, with one person hospitalized. 336 people have had the virus so far.
The Illinois Department of Public Health announced 39 new deaths and 1,492 new cases, bringing the state’s totals to 236,515 cases overall and 8,064 total deaths.
The seven-day positivity rate has crept up two-tenths of a percent to 4.3 percent.
