UPDATED 11:40 a.m.: Illinois State Police say Wilson was driving a 2020 Freightliner utility truck northbound on Interstate 57 at mile market 229 around 5:50 Tuesday night when he left the roadway for an unknown reason. Police say Wilson over-corrected and lost control of the truck, ending up in the ditch. His passenger, 51-year-old Troy Tranchant of Danville was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

An Oakwood man has died following a single-vehicle accident near Tolono Tuesday afternoon.
Champaign County Coroner Duane Northrup says 62-year-old John Wilson was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which occurred on Interstate 57 at mile marker 229, one mile south of the Willard Airport exit.
An autopsy is scheduled for today.
