Illinois State Police say a Saturday night (September 5, 2020) crash between an SUV and motorcycle in Edgar County has claimed the life of the cyclist. Troopers say the victim is 32-year-old Eric Marcrum of Hume.
The crash occurred shortly after 8 p.m. on Route 133 at 600 East Road. Troopers say their preliminary investigation found that Marcrum disregarded a stop sign and struck the SUV in the driver’s side. The operator of the SUV, 71-year old Stephen Shrader of Arcola and three passengers in that vehicle escaped injury. Police say Marcrum was not wearing a helmet.
State Police say the crash remains under investigation.
