The Vermilion County Health Department says 14 new COVID-19 cases have been reported.
Administrator Doug Toole says the new cases consist of three people in their 70’s, one person in their 60’s, three people in their 50’s, three people in their 40’s, one person in their 30’s and three people in their 20’s.
Three of the new cases reported Thursday are family-related to prior cases. Vermilion County has seen 405 total cases.
Right now, the county has 60 active cases, with four people hospitalized and the rest in isolation.
The Illinois Department of Public Health says 1,953 new cases and 28 more deaths from the virus have been reported throughout the state, including a man in his 80’s in both Edgar and Ford counties.
Currently, the state’s totals are 255,643 cases and 8,242 overall deaths. The seven-day statewide case positivity rate is 3.8 percent.
