The Vermilion County Health Department says 11 new COVID-19 cases were reported over the weekend.
Administrator Doug Toole says six new cases were reported Saturday afternoon and five new cases on Sunday afternoon.
Saturday’s new cases consisted of one person in their 70’s, one person in their 60’s, two people in their 40’s and two people in their 20’s. Sunday’s new cases are one person in their 70’s, two people in their 60’s, one person in their 40’s and one person in their 20’s.
Of the new cases on Saturday, three were from the same family and one was related to someone with a prior positive case. Three of Sunday’s new cases were related to prior cases.
Vermilion County has seen 429 COVID-19 cases overall.
The Illinois Department of Public Health announced 1,462 new cases Sunday afternoon and 14 more deaths, bringing the state’s totals to 261,371 cases and 8,309 deaths. The statewide positivity rate is 3.7 percent.
