The current uptick in coronavirus cases seems to only be getting worse.
Vermilion County shattered its single-day case record Tuesday afternoon, with the health department reporting 32 new COVID-19 positive cases.
Administrator Doug Toole says the new cases break down as follows:
- Two people in their 80’s
- Five people in their 70’s
- Nine people in their 50’s
- Two people in their 40’s
- Two people in their 30’s
- Eight people in their 20’s
- Two teenagers
- Two preschoolers
Toole says two people who tested positive in the last 24 hours recently traveled out of state. He also says cases have been linked to social gatherings, work and cases among households.
Vermilion County now has 90 active cases, a jump of 35 active cases from this time last week.
