A former Vermilion County Assistant State’s Attorney has had his law license suspended for two years by the state for using drugs.
The Illinois Supreme Court suspended Aadam Alikhan’s license to practice law after he purchased and used cocaine while employed as an assistant prosecutor at the Vermilion County Courthouse.
State court officials say Alikhan continued to prosecute felony cases involving possession and sale of controlled substances while doing it himself.
Alikhan was fired from his job in the state’s attorney’s office in October 2018 after the Illinois Attorney General’s office began an investigation of his actions.
