Sixteen new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in Vermilion County.
Vermilion County Health Department Administrator Doug Toole says the new cases consist of:
- Two people in their 80’s
- Three people in their 70’s
- Four people in their 60’s
- Two people in their 50’s
- One person in their 40’s
- Three people in their 30’s
- One person in their 20’s.
Currently, Vermilion County has 91 active cases, with five people hospitalized. Overall, there have been 547 cases.
The Illinois Department of Public Health announced 1,531 new coronavirus cases Tuesday afternoon and 30 more deaths. Three of the deaths were in Region 6: two Coles County men in their 80’s and one Crawford County man in his 70’s.
Statewide, the case count is at 277,266 and the death total is 8,486. The seven-day positivity rate is flat at 3.5 percent.
