The Illinois Secretary of State’s office has extended the expiration dates for driver’s licenses and ID cards for three months until February 1st.
The new extension includes anyone whose driver’s licenses expire in November, December and January. As a result, customers do not need to rush into driver’s services facilities during the pandemic.
License plate stickers remain valid until November 1st, and the Secretary of State’s office says they can be easily renewed online.
The office says it has seen an 84 percent increase in license sticker renewals online since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
Drivers who are 75 years old or older do not have to renew their licenses until their birthday in 2021.
