The Vermilion County Health Department says 35 more COVID-19 cases have been confirmed over the weekend.
Administrator Doug Toole says the new cases consist of:
- Two people in their 80’s
- Six people in their 70’s
- Six people in their 60’s
- Five people in their 50’s
- Four people in their 40’s
- Two people in their 30’s
- Four people in their 20’s
- Two teenagers
- One grade-school-aged child
- Three preschoolers.
Eleven of the new cases are family related. One of the new people with the virus has been hospitalized.
VCHD reported 15 new cases on Friday afternoon.
The Illinois Department of Public Health announced 4,045 new cases between Saturday and Sunday, along with 39 more deaths, including one man in his 80’s and one man in his 70’s–both from Effingham County.
Currently, the state’s totals are 287,930 cases and 8,601 deaths. The seven-day positivity rate statewide is 3.7 percent.
