Seventeen new COVID-19 cases were reported in Vermilion County on Monday afternoon.
Vermilion County Health Department Administrator Doug Toole says the new cases consist of:
- Two people in their 70’s
- Two people in their 60’s
- One person in their 50’s
- Two people in their 40’s
- Four people in their 30’s
- One person in their 20’s
- One teenager
- Two grade-school-aged children
- Two preschoolers.
Vermilion County now has 100 active coronavirus cases with 10 people hospitalized, and a total of 655 cases overall.
The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 1,709 new coronavirus cases Monday afternoon along with 13 more deaths. In Region 6, the deaths were a woman in her 80’s from Coles County, a man in his 70’s from Crawford County, a man in his 80’s from DeWitt County and a woman in her 90’s from Richland County.
Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 289,639 cases and 8,614 deaths. The seven-day statewide positivity rate is 3.7 percent.
